3 Types of Succulents You Need to Know About

Succulents are taking over the Mission de Flores shop right now and we couldn't be anymore excited about it!

To celebrate, we're sharing 3 of our current favorite types of succulents.
Read on to learn a bit more about these popular and trendy house plants.

1. PANDA PLANT

Botanical Name: Kalanchoe tomentosa
Characteristics: Thick, soft, furry leaves with reddish-brown edges - looks and feels a bit like cat ears.
How tall will it grow? Up to 12 inches (indoors).
How much do I water it? Once a week. Let the water drain thoroughly.
Where should I place it? Put this succulent in a bright location year-round. Either outdoors (when it's not too hot), or next to a window.
Tips: Use "Cactus Potting Mix" if you're going to re-pot your plant.

2. String of Buttons

Botanical Name: Crassula perforata
Characteristics: Stacked thick leaves that look like "buttons" and grows vertically.
How tall will it grow? Up to 18 inches.
How much do I water it? Every other week. Let the water drain thoroughly.

Where should I place it? Put this succulent in a bright location year-round.
Tips: Be careful when transporting this plant as the stems can break off easily the taller they get.

3. Ghost Echeveria

Botanical Name: Graptopetalum paraguayense
Characteristics: Silvery gray to bluish green foliage with a pinkish tinge to the edges of the leaves when they are young. Layers of leaves form the rosette, which range in size from less than an inch across to several inches wide.
How tall will it grow? Up to 12 inches.
How much do I water it? Once a week. Let the water drain thoroughly.
Where should I place it? Put this succulent in a bright location year-round.
Tips: Because the stems are so fragile, it is best to pick the best location for ghost plant and then don’t move it.
